1 Out of Bounds
a) Beyond any fence or wall bounding the course.
b) Beyond the lines of white stakes at the 9th, 10th and 18th holes and along the left fairway of the 13th.
c) In the car park or within the boundary of the artificial surfaces around the Clubhouse.
d) On, over or within the lines of the dry-stone dykes at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and on the right of the 17th hole.

NOTE: The fence at the 1st hole is not a boundary fence.

2 Lateral Water Hazards
a) At the 6th hole, Grants Lochie and the ditch issuing from it.
b) At the 15th/16th Ladywell hole, the pond.

NOTE: All other ditches and ponds are ordinary water hazards.

3 Integral Parts of the Course
a) The metalled road behind the 1st green (from the gap in the dyke to the car park).
b) The dykes at the 8th and on the left of the 17th hole.

NOTE: The ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable.

4 Ground Under Repair
a) Embedded rocks in closely mown areas.
b) Reseeded divot holes.
c) Staked trees – if a staked tree interferes with a player’s stance or swing relief must be taken as in Rule 25.1.b. (Ball must be dropped within one club length, no nearer the hole).
d) Tractor mark and all disturbed areas (Green-Keepers Workings) and areas ringed by white paint will be treated as ground under repair.
